DESCRIPTION:The Baggage Brothers is a duo consisting of Scott Moss and Derek McCoy. Scott is a singer/songwriter from Shelby–a town known as the birthplace of Earl Scruggs. Scott’s music tells the story of growing up in this all-American town with a striking\, and sometimes gritty honesty. Throughout the 2000’s\, Scott played with western North Carolina favorites Moonshine Jenny and Evergreen before joining Big Daddy Love in 2012. Scott is joined by Derek McCoy on guitar. Derek has played all over North Carolina co-leading Finkelstein Three\, a progressive bluegrass trio\, as well as with his electric instrumental band The Derek McCoy Trio.

Not only is he a smokin’ guitar-slinger and a monster on the Hammond B3 organ\, he also writes all the original songs his band performs like “Mica Moon” that has received airplay in numerous markets across the US. For covers\, the band chooses songs that reflect the influences of great artists like Joe Cocker and The Beatles. Playing a Fender Stratocaster\, the workhorse of the electric blues\, through an old tweed tube amp and a LED lighted Leslie cabinet\, the sound is instantly recognizable. This band brings a full-size Hammond organ to every show. The rhythm section for the band includes Sam Savoca on drums and George Fiori on bass. These guys are pros and have been together for over 8 years\, 4 with The Ned Lucas Band. Sam’s drumming is best described as hard-hitting\, precise\, and deep in the pocket. George is a solid bassist with experience in numerous genres and confidently secures the foundation of this trio.

SUMMARY:Quickchester
DESCRIPTION:Quickchester is a 5-piece band from Asheville that will bring its “genre-fluid” style to its debut at our live music venue. Paul Quick and Mark Chester began as a duo more than a decade ago playing folk music and a handful of original songs in coffee shops and open mic events around Asheville. Today\, Quickchester has a library of more than 30 original songs and some 100 covers. Paul plays lead electric guitar while Mark backs on acoustic rhythm guitar\, and both are contributing songwriters. Singer/songwriter and flute player Kyley Byrd rounds out the three-part vocal harmonies\, with drummer Stu Way and bassist J.D. Smith holding down the rhythm. Their music is a blend that ranges from indie rock and folk to good ol’ rock’n’roll.
