Newfound Gap Youth Bluegrass Band

Newfound Gap (Youth Bluegrass Band) hails from Leicester, NC., and they will be kicking off the annual Saluda Coon Dog Day Festival at our live music venue. They’ve played several stages including Merlefest, Appalachia Sessions TV, The Earl Scruggs Festival, Balsam Range’s Art of Music Festival and the Youth and Kids on Bluegrass Stages for the International Bluegrass Music Association. They’ve won first place ribbons for best youth band at several fiddlers’ conventions in the Southeast and won second place in youth band at Galax. All have earned awards in their instrument categories. This sibling band ranges in age from 12 to 17. They include Bayla, banjo/guitar/vocals; Sylvie, fiddle/mandolin/vocals; Judah, upright bass/guitar/vocals; and Emme, upright bass/mandolin.
