Green River Eddy’s Tap Room & Grill at Saluda Outfitters, 435 Main St., Saluda, N.C., offers an adventure sports bar atmosphere, craft beers on tap, wine and cocktails with live music on an expansive deck overlooking Main Street and Ozone Road. Open seven days a week, Eddy’s provides a varied menu from its very popular, permanent on-site Food Truck that rivals any restaurant in the area, and is fast becoming the premier venue in Polk County for live music. Named for the nearby Green River and the river eddies that attract whitewater adventurers from far and wide, the tap room and grill opened in 2018 as part of Saluda Outfitters, the cozy log cabin retail store established in April 2017. Locally owned and operated, the store was renovated in spring 2018 to include the bar, food truck and bike shop. In 2020, a downstairs game room was added, with a pool table and darts. The inside of Green River Eddy’s features a winding bar made from locally-sourced hickory and hand-shaped copper that leads to the outdoor deck. There you will find additional seating under umbrellas on warmer days and warm fire pits for those cool evenings. From the Under the Live Oak outdoor stage, visitors can enjoy the music of numerous talented area musicians and bands. Inside, The Sound Garden stage has been constructed for live music during inclement or cold weather, making it a year-round location for live entertainment. The tap room and deck feature many unique touches, including woodcarvings by local chainsaw artist Ted Travers who also created a 450 pound, 5-foot-6-inch American Eagle carving. The Eagle overlooks entry onto Saluda’s Main Street from I-26 and Ozone Road. The bar currently sports 14 taps with a selection of more than 30 craft beers in cans and bottles from the local and regional area, as well as your favorite domestic beers, a varied wine selection, and an excellent selection of mixed drinks. Green River Eddy’s T-shirts, bearing the unique logo are available for sale. The logo is also featured on the back of custom-made barstools designed and crafted by the Artful Pallet of Asheville, N.C. An indoor commercial kitchen allows food prep space for the stationary food truck at the outfitter. Our chef has created a select menu that includes made-to-order ½-pound burgers with fries, in-house smoked barbeque with special sauces, and everything from Pad Thai to Mahi and Shrimp tacos. Other menu items range from all beef hotdogs to Eddy’s garden salad with a wide selection of appetizers and a kid’s menu. We even offer America’s favorite home-made sweet tea. The newest entertainment venue in this small historic town, you have to visit to appreciate its uniqueness where a friendly staff will always greet you. Free live music provided by area bands and musicians is scheduled weekly at this kid and pet friendly location with additional music dates anticipated throughout the summer months.
